Abstract
Hepatitis C infection is known to be a very serious disease and high risk of transmission by nonparenteral route. But the route of transmission is not clear and epidemiologic studies also are not enough. Total 6206 persons were screened for hepatitis C infection. Among them 404 persons had hepatitis C seropositive maker. Those patients were analyzed for basic data of transmission mode and epidemiologic study. The results were as follows 1. Mean infection rate was 2.5% 2. The positive ratio of anti-HCV in men to women was 1.2 : 1, but statistically insignificant. 3. The positive rate of anti-HCV by age distribution showed that the young generation group(31-49 years) was much lower than that of old age goup(50-). 4. The clinical and pathologic diagnosis with anti-HCV showed that chronic hepatitis, cirrhosis of liver, toxic liver disease were much higher than other disease In conclusion, this study was useful for epidemiologic study and basic data for route of disease transmission.
